About the Crazy Woman

Nerja, Spain

So I'm not really crazy, I just have my moments.

Like when in September 2012, when I walked out of the doors of my job of 4 years for the very last time, and 5 days later got on a plane with my miniature poodle (and far too many pieces of luggage) and moved to Spain. I started this blog in 2010 in an attempt to bridge my interests in food and public health policy, in an effort to blog my way into a new big girl job. Two and a half years later, I find myself living in a new country, learning a new language, and wanting nothing to do with public health, and everything to do with anything that I've never done before. Save for eating mayonnaise. Because that's shit is  gross. I've had a hard time convincing the Spanish of this fact, but I'll keep trying. In the meantime, I'll attempt to search for food inspiration at every tapas bar that will have me, and document my attempts to recreate culinary awesomeness in my Spanish kitchen. I don't know where this journey will ultimately take me, but I sure as hell hope it tastes good.

I am a work in progress. Watch me cook and hear me roar.
