When did that happen?!

You know how you take a break from blogging one day, and 21 days later you still haven't blogged? What about when you go on weekend trips, and start off taking pictures of everything with the intention of blogging about your trip, but then you drink 6 or so mimosas at brunch and fear that you're too drunk to safely handle your expensive camera, thus taking 0 pictures after the first few hours of said boozy brunch? How about when you share your absurd 30 before 30 list, and want to talk about some of the progress you've made only to have very little photographic evidence of such progress? And don't even get me started on the back log of recipes to blog about. No really, don't get me started, there aren't that many recipes backlogged, I've been suffering from serious foodie's block. Add to all of these things a big move and new roommates and what you've got is ME!

But you know how it goes, some days you feel like a nut, and some days you feel like drinking a bottle of wine with your new roommate. ¡Salud! There is much to be said about change, especially when it's change for the better, but why talk when I can show. If you will, here's my life in pictures, I promise some of these things I will get around to blogging about it...eventually.

Finally trying the famous Woodberry Kitchen for big sister's birthday. It lives up to all the hype and then some. I must return!

Putting that photography class to work at my Goddaughter's christening. She's one of my favorite babies and I don't even like babies!

The infamous boozy brunch with my college roommate, Liz [my wifey!] at Essex in NYC. Apparently, 3 mimosas with brunch is really bottomless mimosas with a really big tip for our waitress.

The best drunk brunch menu item ever. It's like they knew I was going to be toasted by noon, ole!

2 of my new roommates, Duncan and Blue, neither of whom guzzle wine. Well, Blue might if you let him, lol.

The makings of spiced butter...

That I then slathered over pork short ribs and onions in. Marcus Samuelsson made me do it!

A fabulous weekend in Pittsburgh. Narcisi Winery, my other favorite baby, Kona, friends, family, The Phipps Conservatory, more photography practice. Awesome.

Maple bacon biscuits. If you follow me on The Twitter, you may have already seen these.

Red wine braised pork shanks.

Manzana Manhattan. [Still tweaking the recipe, research is so delicious]

And my favorite new accomplishment, even though it scares the hell out of me, the Jewel.

Happy Thanksgiving. Catch y'all on the other side of the Turkey Coma. Gobble Gobble!

  1. I'm so pleased to know someone who shares my love of all things pork.... and cocktails!

  2. 1. the pictures look great!
    2. You look so pretty, i love that hairstyle.
    3. WTF?!? when i scrolled down and saw the pole picture, i literally said "Jesus" aloud. I really need to get my butt in those pole classes

  3. You have been busy!! But in a very good, traveling, eating, cooking, hanging with friends kind of way. AND holy j*sus, just the photos of that crazy pose scares the hell out of me. Much respect.

  4. Haha, just read the other comment from Chavonne who had my exact same reaction.

  5. your reaction is exactly how I feel when I do that move. All I keep thinking is if I fall, I'm going to die. On the plus side, I am learning to work through fear, lol

  6. That was the first time I've ever put my hair into an updo myself, and I was happy I got a lot of compliments, so thanks :)
And yeah, get to pole, it'll change your life!

  7. oh yes! pork is my protein of choice, and cocktails are just plain awesome!

  8. Bwahaha! It's been a month since I last blogged. I've been bad. Really bad.  Chavonne blogged about this too.  Well I've had lots of changes and I really need to get back into blogging. If only I would upload those pics to my computer and organize them. Kanye shrug.  I too love that hairstyle, and the food... and your Godbaby....esp. since it's my baby.hehe. Love you :-)
